där Plath`s slogan var :" Dying Is an art,and I can do It well"medan Mc Hale ville dö med stil.

Plath var därtill en dokumentär poet/författare,vars dagböcker utgör referenser till större delen av hennes verk,som återspeglar hennes själstillstånd och manodepressivitet i vars intelligens och psykiska sjukdom,gick hand i hand.
